Resumo:
The urban sprawl results in changes in the microclimate, mainly due to the replacement of native vegetation by buildings and pavements. The meteorological variables analysis as air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, linked to anthropogenic modifications allows us to understand the actual environmental conditions experienced by the population in an urbanized area. Given the above this study aims to determine the environmental comfort of the city of Pombal-PB to assist the Departments of Environment and Infrastructure in the forestation process of the same, contributing to a more comfortable future environmentally and scenically. We used four indices of thermal comfort: IDT, IC, ITU and the IDT applied to extreme values, and geoprocessing techniques. Climatological data were measured by the Digital Thermo-hygrometer devices with Extension Cable - TH 439, thermo-hygrometer - HT 210 and Hydro Term Anemometer Luxmeter Digital LM-8000. Could be seen from the results of thermal comfort indices in New Life neighborhood population feels discomfort for much of the day and feel extreme discomfort in warmer times. is proved, therefore, the importance of vegetation cover on the thermal comfort and temperature amelioration in cities. It also concludes that the forms of use and occupation have caused changes in the thermal comfort in the study area. Therefore, the spatial distribution of thermal comfort indices will certainly contribute to a better urban planning in order to improve environmental quality.
