Resumo:
With the population increase in Brazilian cities and the word grows the waste dumps in receiving bodies, making it necessary an effective treatment, to remove the polluting organic load prior to launch. In this work, we sought to present a proposal for a wastewater treatment system for the municipality of Lagoa - PB. In the study development the following steps were realized: characterization of the municipal sewage service, current situation of sanitation in the city, identification of the main environmental impacts of the lack of sewage treatment and finally, a proposal for a treatment system that best suit the local conditions. In the methodology, were necessary on-site visits, informal interview with the infrastructure of county clerk, photo documentation of some parts of the study area and library research. From the results, it was observed that the system used in the city has flaws, necessitating the replacement of the system. As an alternative of sewage treatment system we suggest an Anaerobic Lagoon followed by Facultative Lagoon, the choice was due to the fact that it is a system that requires a smaller area when compared to other systems, the temperature of the region, and the low cost of deployment and operation.
