Impactos quanti-qualitativos no Rio Piancó-Piranhas decorrentes dos seus diversos usos.

Abstract

Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative impacts on a water body is very important to have an adequate management of water resources. This study analyzed the qualitative and quantitative characteristics in a stretch of the river Piancó - Piranhas, fountainhead of the city of Pombal, the western region of the state of Paraiba. To this end, it was determined the reference flow and instream flows, applying the method of the curve remained, which is employed in the place referred to the provision of grants, and evaluated the water quality of the water body. Flow data used were the fluviometric stations in the municipality and the qualitative data were obtained from analyzes in different parts of the stretch. It follows that the reference flow estimated by the method used for the stretch of the river was 3.56 m³.s-1 and the estimated ecological flow was 0.356 m³ s-1, according to the criteria adopted in the state of Paraiba. The assessed section, the relationship between the daily flow and the given volume indicates meet the demands and the conservation of the river ecosystem and according to the parameters analyzed the river is presented in good condition.
