Abstract:
This paper aims to highlight, through various accounts of experiences the trajectory from the process of the degree Course in Social Sciences and extracurricular projects, the assertive analogy through the concept of "powerful knowledge" of sociologist Michael Young. Of a quantitative and qualitative bibliographic nature, interviews were conducted after the reading of the work PIBID (Memoirs of initiation to teaching), which had as their purpose to emphasize which are the implications of the project in the academic and professional trajectory of the PIBID students. Knowing that the teaching of Sociology has peculiar features in terms of its reflective, critical and argumentative character, we witnessed challenges in the sense of social openness to Sociology although its transforming sense had produced positive results of the professional and personal terms. As such, we can recognize in the "powerful knowledge" the crucial characteristics that education, once added to the reality of the student, is capable of achieving variable levels of positive results. The results achieved in this work was evident in the memories taken yhe relevance of the Sociology discipline as a light for Education, as well as the transformative effects of PIBID in the formation process as a construction of the teaching identity and in the general perspectives of the project participants lives.
