Resumo:
This study aims to analyze experiences lived by users and their families in a Centro de
Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS III) in the city of Campina Grande, in a period after the
Psychiatric Reform that reorganized its entire health network. This dissertation sought
to understand the social relationships established within this service, based on the
assumption of the family member's participation in these care practices that were
directed to them as a responsibility. In order to carry out this research and the
methodological paths that guided it, the relationship established with my interlocutors
on the valuation of the moments of sharing and approximation, that the field research
meetings made possible, was essential. During the participant observation, it was found
that the importance of the participation of their family members in the care service is in
constant dialogue, as well as, the medicalization remains a factor present in this process
of changes in the model of asylum treatment.
