Resumo:
The issues facing citizens today as a result of solid waste generation resulting from human action are clearly noticeable. However, the urban agglomerations and the habits of purchasing life due to contemporaneity, make the scenario difficult, thus requiring from the public administration current and productive actions that generate satisfactory and immediate results. At this juncture, the Public - Private Partnerships established in our country by Law 11.079 / 2004 appear as an effective option for solid waste management. Partnerships are an innovative issue to solve the problem of solid waste management, enabling the individual to play the main role in the public interest, promoting the proper management of waste. This paper aims to demonstrate clearly and objectively the improvements presented in the application of a PPP, in the municipality of Sousa-PB, in the current conjuncture of the municipality, it can be concluded that the current adopted model of concession, governed by Municipal Law No. 2,788, of November 29, 2018, is compatible with the rules of the PPP Law, making it feasible to apply a public-private partnership in the city of Sousa- PB
