Abstract:
Third-sector organizations have experienced significant growth in recent decades, promoting a
vast field of knowledge for management researchers, even in the face of significant progress
these organizations face unique management challenges tied to their characteristics and
specificities. The present work aims to analyze the presence of Schumpeter's entrepreneurship
elements (1997) in the management of non-profit organizations As for the methodology, a
qualitative approach was used through the multicase study, the instrument used was the semistructured interview elaborated by Santos Silva. et al (2014) applied with the managers of three
organizations belonging to the third sector. In relation to the results found, it was observed that
the elements of Shumpterian entrepreneurship are present in the daily life of these
organizations, and that managers identify and internalize the characteristics commonly
attributed to the figure of the entrepreneur as: leadership, perseverance, self-motivation and
passion for what he does. It was observed contacted some of the sensitive areas considered by
Shumpeter (1997) in the context of these organizations, such as the challenge of attracting
sustainable resources and managing a mostly voluntary workforce.
