Resumo:
The Urban Economy is guided by the choice of families and companies to settle in certain
locations based on the attractions and potential that the region offers. This concept proposes an organization of municipalities in collaboration networks based on the knowledge economy, linking local development to innovation. Therefore, this perspective can be aligned with the Innovation Ecosystems that consist of the integration of companies, research centers, government entities and educational institutions, in the search for sustainable economic development. Therefore, this research seeks to evaluate the contribution of Innovation Ecosystems to the Urban Economy of the municipality of Campina Grande / PB. In order to measure such contribution, dimensions were elaborated, which generated conceptual variables, such variables were related during the work, so that the mentioned contribution could be understood. The methodological process took place through bibliographic research, used for the elaboration of the dimensions and extraction of the variables. The other phases of the research aimed to validate the use of the variables elaborated by means of documentary analysis and field research. As a result, through the data obtained, we can infer that there are contributions from Innovation Ecosystems to the Urban Economy of Campina Grande. The verification based on documentary analysis and field research, allowed to measure that there is an average relationship between the constructs in the municipality. The city has elements
that are characterized as spaces for the transmission of knowledge, universities, research
centers, but the actions taken are still punctual, they do not include all local urban arrangements.
