Abstract:
The teaching-learning process is highly influenced by issues of the environment in which stu-dents are inserted, especially in situations where they have a long period of study, such as full-time schools where students spend about 8 hours daily. In this sense, the environment that they are inserted must provide favorable conditions and lighting is one of the main issues to be ana-lyzed. In this context, Lighting Engineering is present not only for the creation of adequate lighting for an environment, but also for the evaluation of lighting of already built environ-ments. Thus, the present work aimed to analyze the lighting levels of the classrooms of a High School Reference School (EREM), located in the city of Sertânia, Pernambuco. For this, the guidelines in Occupational Hygiene Standard 11 were followed to determine the average illu-minance of the rooms during the morning, afternoon and evening. Then the data were analyzed and it was observed that the illumination levels are not in accordance with that standard, since most rooms have average values of illuminance 25.17 lux and 195.83 lux, and others with very high values that cause glare in the rooms, thus needing a new lighting project that will solve the lighting problems of each room. Thus, the Lumisoft software was used for the elaboration of the luminotechnical project of each room, dimensioned to the values present in NHO 11. In this sense, the developed projects, since implemented, can solve the luminal, night and day deficits of the studied rooms. with average illuminances between 526.78 lux and 641.49 lux.
