Resumo:
This present work it‟s about the understanding of the vocational issues in the training of the
student worker of the Social Service course at the Federal University of Campina Grande in
Sousa - PB campus, having the objective to analyze if this makes possible the permanence
of these students in said course, as well as participation in extra classroom teaching, also
research, extension and supervised curricular internship activities. The research is based on
the critical-dialectical method, using exploratory bibliographical research. The subjects of the
research were the teachers and the student workers of the Social Service course of the
mentioned Institution. The analysis of this work seeks a greater understanding about the
process of privatization and mercantilization of higher education in contemporary times, due
to the neoliberal offensive, rebating in the professional formation in Social Service, for the
consolidation of the Professional Project protected by the Curricular Guidelines of the
Brazilian Association of Education and Research in Social Service. Therefore, it‟s verified
that the problem in the dynamics of the UFCG, imposes a series of challenges to the
vocational training of the student worker, in view of the lack of organization of the Student
Assistance Policy in relation to the demands and how the University is structured to receive
and follow the students throughout the training process.
