Resumo:
In the last decades we have seen in Brazilian society a significant increase of
adolescents fulfilling socio-educational measures. According to the Statute of the
Child and Adolescent, the application of socio-educational measures is directed to
adolescents who practice acts of infraction and must be punished. The objective of
this study is to analyze the limits and possibilities of family participation in the
processes of reinsertion of adolescents in conflict with the law of the Adolescent
Educational Center (CEA). We set out as secondary objectives: to draw a
socioeconomic profile of the families of the CEA adolescents; as well as to draw a
profile of the CEA adolescents and to analyze the role of the family in the reinsertion
of these adolescents. We conducted a qualitative research and the instrument of
data collection was a semistructured interview with a script of open and closed
questions. The subjects of the research were the families of the CEA's internal
adolescents. The data collected allowed us to understand two issues: the high
number of adolescents in conflict with the law and the precarious public policies
offered to this public; especially with regard to the application of socio-educational
measures of deprivation of liberty. Thus, it is concluded that the way that socioeducational
measures are being materialized has not been enough for the
resocialization of these adolescents, needing more effective public policies for
resocialization to happen, and also the participation of the family in this process as a
support protection of these adolescents, providing community living.
