Resumo:
This Course Conclusion Paper deals with the role of social workers in the face of the
precariousness of health policy in the Regional Hospital of Sousa (RHS). It exposes
the historical trajectory of health policy, and discusses the professional work of the
social worker in the same, besides analyzing this action against a context of
precariousness of the politics debated. Thus, the general objective of the study was to
analyze the limits and challenges of the professional performance of social workers in
the context of precarious health policy in the Regional Hospital of Sousa / PB, and
specifically to discuss health policy, emphasizing their peculiarities in the contemporary
scenario; understand the perception of the social workers of HRS about the refusals of
precariousness in the work of these professionals;discussing the insertion of Social
Service in the area of health ; and to uncover the challenges faced by social workers
in HRS. The research was guided by the critical-dialectical method, contemplating the
bibliographical and field research. In addition, it qualifies as an exploratory study with
a qualitative approach, whose instrument of data collection was a questionnaire with
open and closed questions applied to Social Welfare professionals of the
aforementioned hospital. The results of the analysis showed that the health policy in
Brazil has not yet developed satisfactorily, since there are many difficulties that
surround it, which directly implies the performance of the Social Worker, who ends up
receiving requests that are beyond his / her competencies and attributions. Faced with
this, it is necessary that social service professionals strive for actions that ensure the
right to access to public health more just, universal, and integral. The study has its
relevance, as it will contribute to reflections on the subject in a context of intense
precarization of health policy.
