Abstract

The present research presents the representations of the geographical space of children Roma in the city of Sousa-PB. With the help of drawings, we sought to know how girls and boys see their space, if gypsy culture and the values of nomadic ancestors are factors that influence their representations, if they differ in relation to the gender and what is the meaning of this space. Therefore, the elements of the drawings were grouped into themes, these were analyzed and served as a subsidy to understand the values contained in the space of gypsy children, the influence of fixed life becoming evident in the city and the personal values of each participant, in addition to individuality and collectivity expressed as meanings of space90. In no time will the Roma cultural aspects were represented. This denotes the evident cultural loss of the new generation of Roma sedentarized, being possible possible interventions, so that this fact is reversed and the preserved gypsy culture.
