Resumen:
This bibliographical study focuses on "Film as a teaching resource in the teaching and
learning of Geography", with the purpose of seeking theoretical support on the issue
under study Just follow your quest objective, winch focuses on analyzing the
contribution that cinema offers in teaching Geography and verify the relationship that
cinema has on motivating students to go to the search for new knowledge of social and
educational in teaching Geography . Therefore, the study focuses on the thematic axis
directed to the topics: the teaching of Geography in the news, having as parameter the
crisis of study in the classroom observing the possibilities of working with the
accession of Geography subject learning; cinema a historical approach, rescuing him as
the seventh art and its operations in Brazil, highlighting the films that represent the
motion of the new cinema in Brazil and its characterization and film in teaching
Geography at school, with features that help, the contributions of new technologies in
cinema inclusion in the classroom and the suggestions and procedures to use film in the
classroom teaching of geography, with the central focus of the film feature film Rio, 40
degrees director Nelson Pereira dos Santos in 1955. Therefore, we sought a literature in
which authors focus on the theme of the film worked in the classroom as well as its
importance in learning geography. Having highlighted how, Vesentini (2004), Lacoste

(1998) and Salem (1987), among others, to address the topic under study
