Autonomous Maintenance aims to enable shop floor production teams to have the skills to work in conjunction with maintenance, enabling the worker to develop lubrication, inspection and machine adjustment skills when needed. In this sense, through a study of production times, board meetings and observations of the company's needs, this work carried out a case study for the implementation of autonomous maintenance (MA) in the hamburger production sector in a food business. As a result, there was increased production in units produced, increased machine availability through reduced downtime and reduced set-up time. As a result, there was a significant increase in overall industry efficiency from 46% to 72% within just four months of MA implementation, the company increased its production capacity and gained competitive advantages by reducing costs.
