Abstract

The present work, entitled "CRAS and the impact of its actions on the city ​​of Cajazeiras: between theory and practice (from 2007 to 2013) ", main objective to carry out an analysis of the performance of the Referral Center of Social Assistance before the assisted public in the city of Cajazeiras - PB. THE principle we carry out the historical trajectory of the emergence of public policies, struggles and demands by society for them to be implemented and the affirmation process when already put into practice. The motivation for accomplishment of this work resulted from the concern to analyze the actions that the CRAS (Social Assistance Referendum Center) develops and its impacts on life of those who need this service Regarding the methodology used, in the based on the concept of Matos and Senna (1989), who clearly state that oral history and a research method by conducting interviews with people who participated or witnessed something real. And a very important for the elaboration of a historiographical work, because not everything we find written, so it is necessary to interview people who have witnessed or lived events to build the story and it is not lose in time. This research was carried out at CRAS in Bairro Sao Francisco, in Cajazeiras in the month of August 2013, with a script of questions both professional as personal, equipped with an electronic recorder to record the responses of the two interviewees, the social worker and the psychologist. Thus we describe the history of the emergence of Public Policies, Social Policies and of the Social Assistance Policy, emphasizing the process of fighting the less favored for the consolidation of these policies. We also highlight the issue of Basic Social Protection, in which the CRAS (Center for the Referendum of Social Assistance), the history of Cajazeiras and also the place where Finally, we talked a little bit about oral history, then we did the analysis of the data, citing the location, scope, and structure of CRAS, emphasizing the actors surveyed and their speeches.
