Abstract:
This study intends to reflect on the issue of cultural diversity in the teaching of history.
We conducted a reflection on the concept of socio-cultural diversity, as well as the key
documents that deal with the theme. We chose State High School Master Julio
Sarmento in the city of Sousa / PB to conduct a case study. We used semi-structured
interviews directed to three history teachers. The testimonies of the respondents served
as the criterion to enable the exchange of experiences and life rescuing the questions
and criticisms surrounding the issue of cultural diversity. We noticed in this study that
the difficulties encountered by both teachers as the school are common when the
discussion is the socio-cultural diversity, in addition, the speech that is shared on this
theme seems to be already crystallized and naturalized.
