Résumé:
This dissertation addresses the teaching of Sociology in state public schools in the city
of João Pessoa/PB. In the course of this work, the main challenges that teachers face
in their daily lives in schools were analyzed, with emphasis on the development of
pedagogical practice, the resources and didactic strategies used, with emphasis on
the Didactic Book, the teacher training, the teacher-teacher relationship student and
the opinion of students about the discipline of Sociology. Initially, a bibliographic
research was carried out from authors who focus on the Teaching of Sociology, as well
as from official documents in order to support the course of the discipline until its entry
in the official curricula of Brazilian High School, as well as in the new determinations
brought by the National Common Curricular Base. In this work, we highlight a
propositional chapter with reflections, based on theoretical references and the
observation carried out in the field schools, aimed at improving the teaching profession
and, consequently, improving the students' learning. This research aims to portray and
analyze how the Teaching of Sociology has been legitimized in schools and the
perspectives on its continuity in the Brazilian curriculum.
