Resumo:
This pedagogical intervention aims to instrumentalize the forró songs, broadcast in the Northeast region of Brazil, as a means of providing debates related to gender issues, having as a working method the focus group. We did 6 focus group experiences with young people aged 15 to 18 years, all high school students at the Federal Institute of Campina Grande. The musical pieces used as a means to facilitate the debate were previously chosen, aiming to develop a reflection on the models of male and female transmitted in these songs and how gender relations are placed in the lyrics of these songs. The statements and gestures of the young participants of the focus group, among others, allowed us to conclude that the songs evidence relationships between men and women permeated by manifestations of gender and power, which shape sexual behaviors and practices that are reproduced in the daily lives of these young people, reinforcing hierarchical and asymmetric relationships.
