Résumé:
The importance of the act of reading comes from remote times, when prehistoric men deciphered characters made on the walls of the caves, thus effecting communication in their group. The act of reading is a cultural and social act, so access by means of reading by the student to various types of written materials is of great importance, since this allows them to have contact with cultural practices mediated by writing. Based on this understanding, we held an informal conversation at EMEIEF Vitória Bezerra in the city of Cajazeiras, in which the teachers exposed us to the difficulties they face in their school routine when teaching reading. Based on this concern, we defined as objectives, the verification of the reading conceptions of the teachers of that school, and the investigation of the teaching methodological practice as it contributed to the good learning by the student. The importance of this work is due to the possibility of reflecting on the practice of teaching reading in the classroom.
