Resumen:
Facing the reality of public schools, and in particular the Municipal School of Early Childhood Education and Academic Elementary Francisco Vidal de Moura, located in the city of Serra Grande-Paraíba, we noticed numerous difficulties, especially in aspects related to reading and writing. We seek to identify and analyze in greater depth the difficulties of teachers in the process of teaching reading and writing, from then on we formulated as a central question: why do teachers experience difficulties in working with reading and writing in the initial grades of elementary school? The difficulties that teachers face in relation to the teaching of reading and writing may be linked to lack of encouragement from parents, little interest from students, large classes, as well as poor teacher training. We opted for the theme of reading and writing, for its social and cultural relevance, since it constitutes a process of vital importance in the construction of critical and autonomous subjects to act in public life and, consequently, for expanding knowledge, developing logical thinking and above all. all, because we have a special interest in developing a work proposal that would allow a reflection on the theme in order to build in some way to resize reading and writing teaching practices.
