Resumo:
Introduction: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease of socioeconomic nature in which sphere
of government is a series of difficult to control and eradicate the germs that cause disease.
Even i f a drug therapy that takes the individual healing, noncompliance with treatment are
still important factors in the morbidity and mortality rates of this disease. Objective: To
investigate the factors that influence adherence and abandonment of tuberculosis treatment
from the point of view of the nurses of the Family Health Strategy. Methodology: This is a
study of exploratory and descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach that sought to
achieve the objectives through a semi-structured questionnaire which should be applied to the
60 nurses FHT belonging to 9th Regional Health Management of Paraiba state, but the sample
was done with 42 professionals who volunteered to participate in the study. Results: The
results of this research shows that, of the 42 participants, 86% were female, aged between 22
and 31 years (64%), single (50%), with post-graduate (74%), personal income 1-3 minimum
wages (40%). Most of these professionals are employed (55%), working for less than 01 years
in the ESF (50%) and 71% of nurses did not undergo training course on TB for less than two
years. The professionals have adequate knowledge about the adhesion factors and
abandonment of treatment applicable in the following categories: reception, accessibility to
health services, stigma and prejudice, home visits and active, healing prognosis, continuing
education, medications and side effects, prolonged treatment, legal and illegal drugs, family
support and professional development, lack of information and lack of incentives of rulers.
Conclusion: It can be argued that professionals demonstrate knowledge about this important
issue, which significantly contributes to this situation changes grievance that this disease is a
public health problem. So worth reinforcing the need for dissemination of preventive
measures that can reduce the number of cases of tuberculosis, and to emphasize the
importance of measurements and PCNT SUS guidelines as to primary fact that people can
come across before a qualified assistance.
