Resumo:
Currently academic and governmental debates about the school system and policies
educational goals, point to school management as the ultimate goal for the realization and
of the objectives and goals of the educational system, aiming to provide in these environments
educational activities, a space for the formation of citizenship and knowledge constituted by its components.
In this context, the main objective of this monograph is to analyze the extent to which
School Council contributes or not to demoeratization and techno-administrative autonomy
of the school, seeking to know how its performance influences or not in improving the quality
teaching at school. In addition, we will seek to identify its repercussions, at the level of work
pedagogical. The data of this monograph will be based on some different types of
sources, the first one would be a bibliographic and documentary research. Furthermore, for the
deepening the discussion a case study and classroom observations were carried out.
This monograph will be divided into three parts. In the first part, we will make a brief
historical retrospective of the School Councils in the process of constituting the systems
Brazilian educational institutions. This chapter will contain a subdivision where we will seek to analyze the
the Board's performance in a contextualized way, linking it to social events and the
educational issues. In the second part, we will start a discussion about the important
role of School Councils and the constitutional principle of democratic management of
education, highlighting processes such as participation, autonomy, and choice processes
school leaders. In the third and last chapter we will report on the experiences
experienced at school, from the first visits to the Supervised Internship. Starting from
results of this research, it is concluded that the difficulties and obstacles, evidenced in the data
obtained in the questionnaire, can and must be overcome to the extent that those responsible for
this process to be more committed, as was emphasized in the subjects' statements.
