Résumé:
The climacteric is understood as the transition process between the reproductive period and
reproductive health of women. It is physiologically characterized by the depletion of
ovarian follicles, which may cause morphological, functional, hormonal and
target tissues, negatively affecting women's health. The Family Health Strategy
(FHS) is shown as an important instrument in the care of climacteric women and their proposal
meets the National Policy for Integral Attention to Women's Health (PNAISM), a
Since it seeks humanization, quality of care, strengthening as to welcoming, the
bond and listen, within an ethical framework that guarantees integral health and well-being,
incorporating integrality in health promotion as guiding principles. Through
of this study. sought to analyze the assistance offered to women in the climacteric by
FHS nurses. This is an exploratory-descriptive study,
quantitative and qualitative. The study subjects were 14 nurses who work in the Units of
Family Health in the municipality of Cajazeiras - PB. It was used as an instrument for collecting
semi-structured questionnaire data containing objective and subjective questions. At
researchers faithfully followed the ethical observances of Council Resolution 196 / ^ 6
Nacional de Saúde. Quantitative data were analyzed using the frequency index and
percentage, and the qualitative data by the Content Analysis method, in its modality
thematic analysis. It was found that the study subjects are predominantly of the sex
female and are mostly in the 24 to 30 age group. About
professional training, most completed the course in private institutions in Paraíba, in the
2001-2009. A considerable majority (93%) said they had not completed training
focused on the health of climacteric women. In the second stage of the research, it was identified that referral to assistance with specialists, instructions on
symptomatology, nutrition, anamnesis, lectures, debates and clarification of doubts
individual or group are the care offered by some nurses in the care of
climacteric women in the FHS, but with a strong deficiency in routine practice. As well,
conceptions about the climacteric, symptomatology and knowledge assistance
nurses are in deficit. It was observed that the study subjects maintain their
assistance based on the maternal and child model, a still hegemonic care model
in the nursing actions developed in the FHS. This compromises the effectiveness of care
to the non-reproductive period. Therefore, it is necessary to implement
municipal public policies that promote training and awareness
regarding the routine application of care to women in the climacteric of nursing.
