Abstract:
In order to meet the needs of the population in the area of pre-hospital emergency care, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was implemented in Brazil in the 1990s to provide assistance to the population in cases of urgency. However, it is essential to assess and identify the main difficulties encountered by nurses working in this emergency care service, thus aiming to improve the quality of health services through understanding the difficulties and identifying possible solutions to the problems of these professionals who are directly working with human lives, the chosen agency was SAMU in the city of Sousa - PB, with nurses working at SAMU, which has a population of 20 (twenty) nurses on day and night shifts, divided into units and sectors. Therefore, this research has a quantitative nature with a qualitative approach, a semi-structured questionnaire was used, analyzed by the Collective Subject Discourse (DSC) technique and presented in the form of tables, graphs and tables. In the end, only 10 (ten) nurses participated, that is, they were only with those who exercised the role of assistant nurse, and 10 questionnaires were applied from April 25 to May 15, 2010. The questions evaluated several parameters, such as identification of the professional at SAMU, the number of training courses in first aid and whether they had this discipline in their academic life, the degree of difficulty in the occurrences of SAMU, the use of protective equipment individual, the help of society in the information to locate the location of the occurrences and finally if there is an exchange of experience between SAMU and another body like the firefighters. Regarding the identification of the SAMU professional, most are aged between 20 and 30 years old (90%) and the (10%) between 30 and 40 years old; 80% are female; 80% have less than 01 year of experience in pre-hospital care at SAMU, 100% have at least 01 courses in first aid or specialization in PHC, and less than 01 years have been completed, 60% reported that the greatest difficulty found in SAMU and to follow the protocol and the lack of resources, materials, and training with the teams at the beginning of its creation. Therefore, the results reveal that the greatest difficulty encountered in prehospital care in emergency mobile care services and the lack of necessary material, training at the beginning of the career, interaction with the teams and the lack of incentive in the discipline of first aid in the academic life.
