Resumo:
The changes in the Brazilian demographic profile are notorious, where the number of elderly people is growing every year. In view of this, policies have been created and implemented to safeguard the rights of this age group of the population, such as the PNSPI that supported by the PNH, presents user embracement as a tool to reorganize services, in order to provide comprehensive assistance with resolution and accountability, within humanistic principles. This study aimed to know the perception of the elderly regarding the reception received in a Primary Health Care service. It is a descriptive field study with a qualitative approach. The study took place in the areas covered by the basic health unit Jose Leite Rolim in the municipality of Cajazeiras - PB. Twenty elderly people enrolled in the hypermedia program participated in the research. The interview took place with the aid of a voice recorder, being carried out at home. The ethical aspects were strictly complied with in accordance with Resolution 196/96 in research involving human beings, approved by the ethics committee of the Federal University of Campina Grande / Hospital Universitário Alcides Carneiro on 11/09/2011. The data were transcribed and analyzed following the proposal of the Collective Subject Discourse. According to the results, it is noted that part of the participants is satisfied with the way they are received and attended at the BHU by health professionals, as they demonstrate being receptive !, having a good relationship with the population creating a bond, being concerned with the patient's condition, have patience in listening, respect and have responsibility. However, it was seen in the statements attitudes of lack of respect at the reception and lack of priority in the service. Regarding the search for resolution, it was noticed that the most used form of continuity of care was referral to other sectors. It was observed, as a negative point, that management problems such as: the lack of medication, structure, materials to perform exams and the lack of medical professionals throughout the week in the unit, are difficulties that directly interfere in the welcoming process, because it makes it impossible to resolve care. It is concluded, in general, that according to the results, attention to the needs of the aging process still suffers from numerous difficulties that make it impossible to provide dignified assistance to the elderly, as provided by the PNSPI and the PNH.
