The possibility of genetic mapping has brought great advantages to the science. The intention of this research is to study about the genetic mapping and its implications to the working class in Brazil, despite of the fact that the use of the genetic mapping in the work environment can help the workers to keep healthy it can also cause a lot of damages, giving rise to an ethical debate about genetic tests to access a job, which deserve to be carefully studied, looking for equilibrium to use this knowledge in this area. With respect to genetic mapping in the workplace, there are two opposite sides, employees and employers, where both suffer with negative and positive consequences regarding these new technologies. To achieve the proposed objectives were used the hypothetical-deductive approach method, the evolutionary and comparative historical procedure method, and the bibliographic and documentary research technique based on scientific research already done on the subject, as well as the support of the legislation. Thus, we analyzed the positive and negative points arising from this new technology, such as the emergence of bioethics, the science responsible for the study of these issues, verified the main legislations on the subject in the international scope and mainly examined from the perspective of the Federal Constitution of 1988 as they should be managed in Brazilian territory in order to avoid damage to the employees. It was concluded that the use of genetic information should be required only when the objective is to preserve the worker’s health and not to make distinctions based on prejudice.
