Abstract:
This research discusses environmental problems experienced
everyday. In many cases we do not understand the causes of several
catastrophic events, which has caused the fury of nature and which in
the vast majority are caused by people who practice
carelessness with the environment to which they are inserted. Thus,
this research aims to identify which factors contribute to
the environmental imbalance and understand what students in the 4th year of Education
Fundamental understand about the environment. As a collection instrument
of data we used the semi-structured interview, with five students from a
municipal public school in the city of São João do Rio do Peixe -PB, and
classroom observations, which served as a subsidy for better
understand the view of students on the theme; considering speech
during the interview and daily action in school. The theoretical framework was
constructed from readings by authors who develop works
related to Environmental Education such as: Souza (2002); Carvalho (2006);
Vianna (1994) among others. This research is divided into three chapters
the first, we will address the relationship between nature and man, in
sequence we will continue discussing about The importance of environmental education
in the full development of students, to conclude we will present Analysis
of the data collected, the data collected allowed us to some
considerations: need for a change of posture on the part of teachers and
students focused on environmental ethics, as it is up to us to reflect on our
actions before the reality in which we are inserted so that the change of
posture is truly effective. It was possible to conclude that the
students are oblivious to issues related to the environment, since
that they do not understand about issues related to Education
And on the action that man exerts on nature causing
environmental problems. Therefore, it is necessary that teachers
reflect on their educational practice and start inserting methodologies aimed at
for the development of the students' environmental ethics.
