Resumen:
The game and play are considered important strategies for teaching and learning in child
education and early years of elementary education, promoting the internal motivation the
reasoning the interaction between students / teachers / students. With this understanding are
studies in all levels of education in order to have a better understanding of its usefulness. In
this sense, this research aimed to investigate how teachers are using the ludic activities aiming
to collect data that could contribute to further discussion on the importance of play in the
classroom and how the game and play can and should be viewed as a teaching resourceteaching
in two public schools of the City of Poco Dantas / PB, with the theoretical support
authors as; Frascione (2011), Winnicott (1995), Kishimoto (1994), Almeida (1998), Almeida
(2007), Alves (2001), Negrine (1994), Oliveira (2008) , Lara (2004) among others, in addition
to documents that regulate the functioning of these levels. For this we used a qualitative
methodology with the support of interviews, questionnaires and observations. The data were
analyzed in order to meet the objective. The results show that although the teachers
understand the importance of working with the ludic in the classroom to children's
development and learning process, they argue to have difficulties while working with games
and activities for lack of affinity with recreational activities or failure in initial and continuing
training. It is concluded that there is need to promote continuing education at the school
