Resumo:
This study has as its theme: the game and play as a methodological resource for
teaching mathematics in early childhood education. In which we have analyzed the
function of the game and plays in teaching mathematics in early childhood education.
To operationalize the general objective, specific objectives were established: Identify
the importance of games and play activities in the classroom; verifying the design of
teachers about working with games and play in early childhood education classes.
Regarding the methodology, we performed a qualitative study aimed to analyze the data
through the questionnaire, and the participants were three kindergarten teachers who
teach in the classrooms for Pre I , Pre IIA and IIB in a school of public municipal school
located in the city of Cajazeiras - PB. With regard to the results, the research revealed
that teachers understand the importance of working with the playfulness related to
mathematics in early childhood education, but only one of the interviewees, is the
detailed specification of importance to answer the first question of the questionnaire.
The other survey participants also explain, through their answers, but not so detailed as
the first teacher quoted.
