Resumo:
The understanding of corporate management these days does not require knowledge of new
paradigms influenced by neoliberalism by and the wild race in pursuit of survival in today's
global marketplace. This new way of management as the principal tool is the adoption of
social-environmental responsibility, which integrates marketing strategies, ethical stances are
sensitive to the needs of groups that, somehow, are affected with activities of the company,
trying to reach the profits as well as social development and environmental preservation.
Corporate social responsibility has received increasing integration into the business as
substrate of the idea of economic, social and environmental issues, assuming the
subordination of business by collective well-being of present and future generations, this
study is based on foundations and the principles of the constitutional role of social enterprise,
social justice and human dignity, the latter covering the quality of life for workers, consumers
and the community in which it operates the company, to consult about of Environmental
Responsibility, focusing on the business of the municipality of Sousa-PB. It was developed
examining whether there is attention to such practices in their management, whilst
highlighting the lucrative returns which such practices brings the companies, since the profit
is the primary requirement business own subsistence. We used the inductive method
approach, by using the specific datas from some companies, which were well proved, we
could provide general information covering all companies in Sousa. The procedures used
historical evolution, the survey focused on commercial law, from its inception until the
present day, as well as the emergence and evolution of the principle of social function and
social responsibility, the comparative study, in order to draw a parallel between the social
function and social responsibility, and between those and the philanthropic and legal exegesis
and analysis of propositions aimed at constitutional and other laws that contribute to the
extravagant understanding of the social function and social responsibility. Concerning the
technical investigation, this research disposed of a questionnaire, which had the pursuit to
provide a quantitative-descriptive diagnosis of the attention given to social responsibility, by
those companies, and finally, the technical literature for the formation of the theoretical
framework used in the construction the entire monograph, although in general scale, the
companies in Sousa, once their behavior is changing, accompanying the company's current
management taking into consideration environmental and social concerns, and dealing with
this new way of managing its activities as the only means of staying in the competitive
market. They are aware that to compete most effectively, they should introduce strategies to
reduce costs, information technology, quality, all of this, based on environmental and socially
responsible practices to get the new consumer, how to work with the current manpower
available, new investors and stand in front of other organizations.
