Currently it has grown to concern form increasingly critical citizens, able to act in society in which they live, so the current curricular proposals have been trying to meet this demand. Thus the role of the teacher in the process of teaching and learning becomes very important, as it takes up the role of mediator between students and knowledge. The search for new innovative teaching methodologies is presented as a
good tool for the formation of critical citizens, the use of didactic sequences using current topics close to the reality of the students can be seen as a great alternative for this goal to be met. These teaching methodologies instigate students to participate more in class, developing important skills for a critical training and public awareness, contributing to the student is better able to make important decisions in society, being able to opine critically, as the role of education is not only to educate citizens for the labor market but form critical citizens capable of thinking in society using the knowledge absorbed in their training. The use of innovative methodologies usingthemes close to the reality of students is presented as an excellent tool not only draw more attention of the students, but because of them get to see that the chemical is present in their daily lives, this approach allows to promote a contextual education, where the chemical ends up being demystified, since students often even before studying it already see as a difficult and boring discipline, and these differentiated teaching approaches help students enjoy more of the matter. Chemistry is a very important matter and that can be used to explain various phenomena present in the daily lives of the students and is essential for their civic education. Based on these raised questions, this research was based on analyzing a didactic sequence which had the theme 'pesticides' and where various activities were held as class on the issue of pesticides, lecture on the chemistry of organochlorines class on organic farming, reading workshop and interpretation of labels, textual production and application of two questionnaires at the beginning and end of the project. The research was conducted with 38 students of a school teaching public schools in the municipality of Cuite - PB, the results reveal that the project fulfilled its objectives and enabled the students a learning differently, and analyze the results the questionnaires and the proposed activities was found that the students were able to absorb very well several knowledge with the completion of the project.
