Résumé:
The discovery of entropy was driven by the need for development
of technology for industrial expansion that occurred in the 18th century, being treated as
a thermodynamic measure. Since then, its concept gained strength and became
extended to other areas. It was important for the improvement of the means of communication, being also used in the studies of financial, economic and
among others. Despite this, greatness is still poorly understood and little explored. Even the basic physics textbooks of higher education deal with
superficial way, not paying attention to its different meanings. Therefore, this
work aims to present some of these interpretations, providing
thus a better understanding of this concept and a better perception of the importance
that greatness. We will see entropy from the point of view of thermodynamics, in which it
give us the sense in which a transformation can occur, or if it will occur, of
point of view of statistical mechanics, where a connection will be made between the microstates and the macrostates of a system. And finally, from the point of view of theory of
information, where it will be related to the information of a system.
