Abstract:
The ternary alloy was electroplated Co-W-P and optimized operational and pH
parameter with respect to its corrosion resistance. The stable development baths
with relatively low pH levels and the use of complexing agents to stabilize is critical
for obtaining good film quality and increase the lifetime of the electrolytic bath. The
effect of current density and pH to obtain Co-W-P, corrosion has been studied in this
work. The response surface methodology was used as optimization tool. The baths
used to obtain this alloy free of complexing agents were unstable. Good quality films
of alloy Co-W-P were obtained using an electrochemical bath with the complexing
agent. The coatings showed good adhesion and gloss. The characterization and
morphology of the alloy was performed using an x-ray fluorescence spectrometer
energy dispersive (EDX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optimum
operating conditions for obtaining this film were current density of 2mA / cm2 and
especially 6 mA / cm2 and pH 4.0. However, it was observed the presence of micro
nodules and cracks in the surface of the alloy studied.
