Resumo:
The present work had the intention of investigating through scientific procedures, as the work of educational Supervision carried out at the Headquarters of the Municipal Secretariat of Sousa has been concerned. Our intention is to analyze the educational practice of this professional category in the educational reality of Sousense and in the socio-economic-political context of Brazilian society. From observations and interviews with Supervisors 1 at the Secretariat's Headquarters, we acquired resources which enabled us to carry out this work. Since Supervision is the reason for great criticism in the educational environment, we feel the need for work at the headquarters level. When we got more contact with professionals in this area, which allowed us to have a greater contact with the reality that awaits us. In the capitalist society in which we live, education is an instrument to serve the interests of those who hold power and emanate decisions, with little concern for the education of the popular classes. In this way, educational supervision in the way it has been exercised has become a strong ally of the authorities, for the performance of their educational political purposes. However, society and current Brazilian education need action, reflection on the pedagogical practice of the school community in general and Educational Supervision in particular so that a transformative educational action can be encouraged.
