Résumé:
In the search for alternative raw materials for the production of biodiesel has been used to faveleira (Cnidoscolus phyllacantus) which is characterized as a Euphorbia tree typical of the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil with features xerophilous. Faveleira seeds have high oil content and lipid suitable characteristics. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of obtaining biodiesel faveleira to determine the yield and perform their characterization by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. The chromatographic data of biodiesel ethyl faveleira indicated conversion of 97.02%, which is consistent with the minim limit established by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels, especially ethyl linoleate. The spectroscopic data indicated main band characteristics of ester. Thus it is concluded that the oil faveleira has potential as a raw material for production of biodiesel.
