Through this work we studied the composition of fixed oils extracted of the species
Passiflora edulis Sims. The hexane extract was extracted from the seeds, bark, leaves and pulp
of passion fruit by soxhlet method using as solvent hexane, they were moved to a rotary
evaporated in order to remove the solvent hexane of samples, those samples were submitted to
methylation reaction more fluid leaving the extract for a better understanding of the
characterization and identification of methyl esters found in fixed oil gas chromatography
mass spectrometry. The majority methyl ethers identified in four different samples of the
same species were: linoleic acid, palmitic acid and 14-methyl-hexadecanoic acid, and other
acids found individually for each sample. This analysis indicated the presence of some
components that are already used in the food industry and can be fixed oils obtained in this
study, very useful both for human consumption and in animal feed in the form of food,
indicating the importance of reuse of this waste produced by major industries that should be
studied and used in the pharmaceutical industries in the production of cosmetics and in the
food industry, decreasing the amount of waste disposed, since such waste cover economic,
social and environmental preservation.
