Many ways to teach today are no longer justified. This is because a long time is wasted, one learns very little, and people are continuously discouraged. Teaching and learning demands much more flexibility of space, time, personnel, groups and a more opened process of research and communication. Quality education is the newest challenge; it has as its goal the formation of a critical and reflective citizen. Within these more opened spaces, we present the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as tools to support the teaching and learning process, allowing innovative activities in education. In the ICTs we approach more intensively the use of computer simulations in the Java language as a tool to mediate the process of teaching and learning of Random Models: percolation and Ising model. To understand these models, we discuss the theory, showing the concepts and behavior. The simulations used in this work are essential to the comprehension of percolation and Ising model, since there are no analytical solutions. Based on these aspects and also in the interest of using an ICT tool, we appropriate and use the simulations as "experiments" in order to compare the theoretical values with those obtained in the simulations, as well as their behavior, emphasizing that without the computational simulations, results are not obtained. Before using this "experiment", the knowledge of percolation and Ising model were simple and theoretical, failing to ensure the process of teaching and learning of this theory as an isolated character of this process. Thus, the union of theory and 'experimental' practice were able to provide through this work relevant aspects in the construction of knowledge and of a process of effective teaching and learning.
