Resumen:
Materials with negative refractive index comprise a relatively new class of artificially manufactured materials, called metamateriais. They exhibit completely new and innovative technological applications possibility of optical properties that represent a potential allies in the advent of superlens, optical fibers metamaterias, photonic circuits more efficient than conventional electronic circuits, solar cells self-performance, the dream " invisibility cloak", acoustic shields in addition to providing a new phenomenological understanding of electromagnetism as it refers to the interaction of light with metamateriais or materials with negative refractive index. We present the optical properties of materials that exhibit negative refraction. Given this, we will see the changes that occurred in the phenomena of Law Snell- Descartes, the total internal reflection and Brewster angle to be introduced in ourselves a negative refractive index in order to verify the results found in the pioneering work that refers to study of these phenomena developed by Veselago in 1968, which gave support to all research involving metamateriais.
