Resumo:
The diversity of lizards was studied in the Serra de Santa Catarina (SSC), located in
the municipality of São José da Lagoa Tapada, Paraíba, between the months of July
2012 and January 2014. Five (5) environments with different vegetation types were
chosen in this study area with the aim of analyzing the similarity of species presented
in them, and show what factors are responsible for its occurrence. With this aim, 30
environmental variables were observed. 15 species of lizards were found and 13
species were captured (except Iguana iguana and Vanzosaura rubricauda) using
pitfall traps, glue traps and active search limited by time and chance encounter. The
15 species found in the SSC belong to families Anguidae, Gekkonidae,
Gymnophtalmidae, Iguanidae, Phyllodactylidae, Sphaerodactylidae, Teiidae and
Tropiduridae. From the 150 individuals captured, the most abundant species was
Micrablepharus maximiliani (33), which represented 22% of all individuals collected,
followed by Colobosauroides cearensis (31), being this the first record of its
occurrence beyond their typical locality (state of Ceará). There was greater similarity
between the environments I and III when comparing the type of environment versus
environmental variables (according to the Bray-Curtis coefficient, based on
abundance data) and environments III and IV (according to the Jaccard coefficient,
based on the presence-absence of species). The type of environment versus species
richness of environments I and III were also the most similar, totalizing nine (9) and
eight (8) species presented, respectively. Beyond a survey of species and comparison between five (5) types of environments, from the environmental variables observed, this study also showed aspects of morphometry and folidose analysis of each species studied.
