In recent years concern about environmental issues has increased significantly. In this
sense, individual actions and choices motivated by environmental questions are considered
essential, as well as, the consumer is seen as the responsible for sustainability, through
their daily decisions that directly interfere in the productive system. Therefore, to a
sustainable consumption practice, it is necessary to understand consumer behavior regards
to environmental issues. Thus, in this study, the primary research's goal was to analyze the sustainable consumption of students of management degree at Union of Higher Education
of Campina Grande - UNESC. The methodology was quantitative and descriptive. Data
collection was carried out by structured questionnaire with 21 questions based on the scale
of sustainable consumption proposed by Ribeiro and Veiga (2011). It was observed that the
resource saving dimension had the best performance in the students' perception. While
recycling was the least evident determinant due to students showed that they are indifferent
or rarely practice this type of behavior in daily life. General results of sustainable
consumption indicators displayed there are not broadly sustainable attitudes and behaviors
among in day by day students.
