Abstract

Based on an academic discussion, this paper seeks to analyze some aspects of the unemployment insurance program, due to the importance that it assumes today in view of the increase in the unemployment rate that affects a considerable part of the world population. . In an incipient way, a historical approach to the question is necessary, both at a foreign level and at the level of Brazil, as a way of knowing the answers that were given in the past to minimize the consequences of unemployment. Then, it opens the way to analyze its legal nature. It is understood, also, as of great importance and of great enrichment for this work to make considerations about some aspects of employment and unemployment, since for the existence of the unemployment insurance program itself. Soon after, the main theme of the present work is presented, that is to say, the issue of the current structure of the unemployment insurance program in Brazil and the appropriate solutions to the failures of this system are highlighted. It was also necessary to embark on a foray into the experience of other countries, including Mercosur, in what may even serve as a subsidy, in its best aspects, to coordinate a more efficient unemployment insurance program in the Brazilian field. Finally, the pertinent final comments are made regarding the referred program and the possible solutions and perspective for a better functioning of it as a measure of social justice.
