Abstract:
The controversy generated around the subject led us to studies and discussions held in the classroom, on the subject. This aroused in us the desire to seek more substantive information about the way public school teachers work with textbooks. Thus, aiming at deeper knowledge on the subject, we started to investigate the problem at the José Leite Rolim Municipal School, located in the Vila Nova district of this city of Cajazeiras - PB. Reflecting on the above question becomes relevant as the textbook is a material used in the vast majority of schools. For this reason, this document proposes a reflection on the use of the textbook in the classroom. Thus, in the Campo de Estagio school you can see that the textbook is not only a valuable tool, it goes further and replaces the pedagogical act as the teacher uses, mechanically following "the lessons written in the textbooks". MOLINA. During the period of the internship, I witnessed the performance of a job considered monotonous in the classroom, because the teacher ordered the book to be opened and followed literally what was printed on it. The classes did not awaken the exercise of creativity, reflection, contributing to the student's lack of interest. In a way, the teacher is also responsible for the continuity of the "transmission of the dominant ideology, by means of texts.
