Resumo:
This work represents an attempt to deepen our knowledge about the textbook: its role in the teaching-learning process. Our experience took place at the Municipal School of 1st Degree "Degma Lúcia" in São Gonçalo (Sousa - PB.) We consider it important to study the issue considering that the textbook is a controversial subject in the educational reality. Based on the theme, we work with some relevant issues of its use, which we now comment on in order to provoke a reflection in order to understand the role of this didactic material. Based on this conception, it can be seen that the teachers in the internship school have the textbook as an extremely important resource in the teaching-learning process, according to a teacher.
