Résumé:
Logistics is a set of functional activities that assists the flow of merchandise. While reverse logistics is a sub-area of logistics that seeks to return the product sold or consumed, either
through after-sales or after-consumption. In order to be able to become aware of the reverse
logistics processes in our region, this study was carried out with the general objective of
identifying the reverse logistics practices used by Beverages Distributors based in the city of
Sousa-PB. The study was developed through a literature review of descriptive and exploratory
nature, followed by a field research in the companies Pau Brasil Distribuidora and Graal
Distribuidora. The data collection was done through a form applied to the managers of the
companies and analyzed in a qualitative way. The form was elaborated, aiming to describe the
logistic activities practiced in the companies. After analyzing the information collected, the
following results were obtained: information about key transportation activities, inventory
maintenance and storage and order processing; and reverse logistics procedures adopted by
companies. Based on this information, it was possible to present some performance indicators
proposed by Ângelo (2005) and Rocha and Leite (2015) for the logistics activities of the
companies, with a main focus on reverse logistics. This work demonstrates the importance
and the reasons that lead the current organizations to implement the reverse logistics process.
Reverse logistics aims to return the product sold or consumed, in order to reduce costs,
minimize environmental impacts and gain competitive advantage.
