Resumo:
In recent years, we have witnessed a growth in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, travesti and transsexual (LGBT) movement and the visibility of the issues surrounding the multiplicity of gender expressions and identities in Brazil. The media especially have a strong influence on the construction of public opinion, since the media not only publishes, but constructs discourses and produces meanings and subjects, helping to construct representations of identities, which makes them strong candidates for analysis when it comes to the study of social representations. Therefore, this research of documentary type and descriptive character on journalistic material had as objectives to identify and describe the social representations published in titles of reports about the LGBT group in the G1 news portal in the years 2010 to 2017; The titles were analyzed through thematic content analysis and similarity analysis, using the jaccard and co-occurrence indexes. The results showed that what this media has published about the LGBT group focuses on giving visibility to the LGBT pride parade, which is probably the central core of the representation. However, around the pride parade there are other elements that stand out and connect, presenting also a political action of the group. Therefore, according to the resulting graphs, other important issues arise, such as the search for rights, the fight against prejudice and violence and activism of the group, themes that have been appearing increasingly in the course of the years, indicating that the group is becoming a political subject conveyed by the portal.
