Resumo:
The present work analyzes the difficulties faced by the majority of students and teachers in the teaching-learning process of reading and writing, in the initial grades, especially in the 1st grade. The theoretical framework used for this study located in the educational area, is supported by the theories of the works of: (Piaget, 1980; Ferreiro, 1993; Silva, 1985; Milharezi, 1987; Ramer, 1989; Grossi, 1986, 1987, 1988; Micotti, 1980; Silva 1980). We contemplate, as an internship field, the State School of 1st and 2nd Grade Professor Manoel Mangueira de Lima from the city of Cajazeiras - PB, because in this, through systematic observation visits to the internship field, a large number of children from the peripheral area. We ask ourselves about the causes that lead the child to fail in the first grade and what relationship it has with reading and mechanical writing.
