Resumo:
The public security organs use in their management conceptual marketing
practices, in order to guarantee better performances in the services provided to
the population. However, society has been less confident about the services
provided by the PM, due to factors such as the aggressiveness associated with
its actions, that is, approach to the citizen. In this way, the more effective the
services provided to society, the greater the level of trust of the population. In this
sense, institutional marketing should be used so that these bodies can instruct
and prepare their workforce, becoming able to provide services efficiently. In this
sense, this study had as its general objective to study the perception of the citizen
in relation to the performance of the Military Police of the 14th BPM in the Region
of the city of Sousa - PB. Using a bibliographic methodological procedure and a
field survey, in which a questionnaire was applied to the citizens of 9 cities in the
Sousense region, and the sample was composed of 953 respondents. Thus, it is
observed that citizens always question the need to have police presence on the
streets, making rounds, since, in most cities, there is a need to guarantee public
safety. In the course of the analysis, the results are always very similar regarding
the level of perception of these respondents, evidencing opinions that show
dissatisfaction with the services provided. As an example, quality and trust, which
they claim to be bad, as well as agility in care and work done with ethical stance,
which in their view is regular. Thus, it is expected that such institution will seek
actions that will provide greater interaction and better social interaction between
the parties. For, as seen in this result, there is a great discontent within these
communities related to the services rendered by the police to society, since it
recognizes that the present form of management makes the population feel
insecure and suspicious.
