Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the perception of Management Theories on the part of public agency officials in the city of Sousa - PB. The research method used was the inductive one and the research was classified as bibliographic, descriptive and field. The data collection was done through a questionnaire applied to the collaborators of the Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste. In the data analysis, a quantitative approach was used to work with mathematical and qualitative resources, considering the most relevant facts for the scientific growth of this science, appreciating classic and contemporary approaches, aligning each one to its economic, political and social context, emphasizing the social character of the Administration. The results show that the relevance of the Administration's knowledge to the support of organizations is clear, although it already exists, empirically, in organizations predating modern capitalism, as in the Roman Church and in Military Organizations, it is during the Industrial Revolution that a new model of life totally dependent on the organizations, and the repercussions of theories of Administration begin to take force.
