Résumé:
Among the many natural resources available in land, water is the most used by living things
to meet their needs, both for consumption and for economic activities. Therefore, due to many
factors, the demand for fresh water becomes increasingly greater than demand, causing the
increasing scarcity. A scenario that worsens in regions who live with long periods of drought,
emerging the need for changes in the population of habit. Soon this research aimed to
determine the level of public awareness about the practices of water use in the sub-basin of
the Fish River, located in the backlands of Paraiba. The methodology used was the
bibliographical research, exploration, and field research with a case study and application of a
questionnaire, considering a qualitative approach. The total universe of the study area consists
of 239,102,000 inhabitants, but through the probabilistic techniques, one can obtain a sample
of 385 questionnaires where they were applied both online and in person randomly in cities
that are part of sub -bowl. Considering the data collected, it can be concluded that a small
portion of the population has very little awareness about the rational use of water, in addition,
no use just having shortage of awareness of the problem, it is necessary to implement rational
habits linked to knowledge scientific developed, aiming efficient perceptions that contribute
to water saving.
